About Us

Summerville Parent Nursery School (SPNS) is a nonprofit, parent-run preschool for children ages birth to five years. With over fifty years in the community, our school offers a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum that emphasizes child-led exploration and practical skills. We make the most of our outdoor campus, which features art and sensory stations, a play structure, a bike path, and a garden. Our classroom and outdoor spaces are designed to encourage discovery, reflecting our focus on a child-centered learning approach.

Parent Volunteer- $19/Day

Parents volunteer one day a week regardless of how many days your child attends— a great way to build community.

Child Drop Off- $27/Day

If you drop off your children there are still many ways to get involved such as field trips, fundraisers, and holiday events.

Our Philosophy

We aim to build a solid foundation for each child's future by working closely with parents. Parents can engage in monthly workshops and have opportunities to volunteer in the classroom. Our goal is to create a supportive community that benefits the entire family through both educational opportunities and communal support.

Empower their learning journey

Joining a parent co-op preschool offers parents a unique and enriching experience that extends beyond traditional childcare. By participating in a co-op, parents become deeply involved in their child's early education, contributing to a collaborative and supportive community. This hands-on involvement allows parents to gain a better understanding of their child's learning and social development while fostering stronger bonds with both their child and other families.

Build their creative confidence

Our developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum focuses on child-led exploration and practical skills development. We spend as much time as we can outdoors on our campus, which includes art and sensory stations, a play structure, a bike path, and a garden. Activities and play spaces in the classroom and outdoors are set up for student discovery, reflecting our child-centered approach.
