Frequently Asked Questions

What is a co-op preschool?

A cooperative (co-op) preschool is a parent-run early childhood program where families work together to support their children’s learning. Parents take an active role in the classroom, help with school operations, and build a close-knit community. This model keeps costs lower while fostering strong connections between children, parents, and educators.

Do I have to volunteer?

We understand that parents have busy schedules! Volunteering in the classroom isn’t the only way to participate. There are many other ways to contribute, such as helping with fundraising events or supporting school activities. For families who choose to volunteer, we offer a discounted tuition rate of $19 per day. Parents who do not volunteer can still be part of our community but will pay the standard tuition rate of $27 per day. We aim to make participation flexible and accessible for all families.

Does my child have to attend full-time?

At SPNS, we understand that every family’s schedule is unique. Your child does not need to attend school full-time—our program offers flexible attendance options to accommodate your family’s needs. Whether you prefer part-time attendance or specific days of the week, we work with each family to create an experience that best suits both your child and your schedule.

Does my child have to be potty trained?

We welcome children who are still in the process of potty training. As long as a parent or guardian is present in the classroom with them, we are happy to support your child’s needs. This allows us to provide a comfortable and nurturing environment for all children, regardless of their potty training status, while ensuring they have the care and attention they need throughout the day.
